Postbacks
When a partner earns a conversion, HitCTRL calls the partner's own tracker with its data.
What it is
A postback is a call to a partner's tracker each time they earn a conversion, so their tracker counts the sale too. Partners add their own in their portal; your team can add them for any partner.
Making one
- Postbacks › New postback: the partner (team only), the URL to call and the HTTP method.
- Put macros in the URL; each is replaced with the conversion's data. Click one to add it.
- Choose when it is called: all offers or chosen ones (with exceptions), which conversion types and which statuses.
- Optional send rules by sub ID: for example sent when sub ID 1 is "summer", but never when sub ID 2 contains "test".
Macros
{conversion_id} {hit_id} {external_id} {payout} {sale_amount} {currency} {conversion_type} {conversion_status} {offer_id} {created_at} {created_at_unix} {whitelabel} {affS1}…{affS5} (the link's sub IDs)
{revenue} (what you earn) works only in postbacks your team makes; in a postback a partner made it stays empty.
Deliveries
- A failed call is tried again, up to 5 times. The Log tab shows every call and how it went.
- Test postback sends a test conversion through it now; it never counts in balances or reports.
- Calls only go to public addresses on the internet.
