Your first sale
Report a sale from your server with the hit your page kept; HitCTRL credits the partner who sent the visitor.
How it works
- A visitor comes through a partner's link. The tracking tag on your page keeps the visit's hit (a signed code starting with
h1.) in thehitctrlcookie. - The visitor buys or signs up. Your server sends a conversion to HitCTRL with that hit, the conversion type (for example
sale) and the amount. - HitCTRL checks the hit, finds the partner and the offer, and prices the conversion by the offer's goals: what you earn (revenue) and what the partner earns (payout).
- The conversion shows in Performance › Conversions and adds to the partner's balance once it is approved.
Try it without a real sale
In Settings › Developers › Test integration, you make a test hit for a partner and landing page you pick, and get the exact call to send from your server (as a link and as curl). The conversion it makes has the status Test: it shows in Conversions but is never paid, because only approved conversions earn money.
Good to know
- The same
externalId(for example your order number) counts only once, so retrying a call is safe. - A refused conversion is never lost: it shows in Conversions › Failed with the reason. See A conversion did not count.
