Hits and unique hits
Every visit is a hit; the first from a visitor through one link in each hour is the unique one.
The difference
- A hit is every visit through a partner's link or whitelabel.
- A unique hit is the first one from a visitor (the same IP address and browser) through one link in each clock hour. When they come back through the same link in that hour, it is a hit, but not a new unique one, and they keep their first hit.
A link here is the landing page, the partner and the sub IDs together. Another partner's link, or the same link with other sub IDs, counts on its own.
Why it matters
- The conversion rate (CR) is conversions divided by unique hits, so repeat visits do not make a partner look worse.
- EPC (earnings per hit) is the payout divided by all hits.
