Fraud and quality control
Rules flag suspicious hits and conversions for your review; quality control holds a share of conversions back for checking.
Fraud rules
Each rule flags hits or conversions as possible fraud. Flagged ones still count, so nothing is lost by mistake; you review them and decide.
| Rule | Flags |
|---|---|
| Too many hits from one IP | More hits from the same visitor IP within an hour than your limit (6 by default). |
| Unknown device | The browser does not say whether it is a desktop, phone or tablet. |
| Unrecognised browser | The user agent names no known browser. |
| Too soon after the hit | A conversion fewer seconds after its hit than your limit. |
| Suspicious hit | A conversion whose hit was already flagged. |
| Partner email in advertiser params | A field your server sends holds the email of one of your partners. |
| Self-referral | The order ID is the email of one of your partners. |
Turning a rule off keeps its earlier flags. Fraud rates show how much was flagged in the last 30 days.
Quality control
Set a share of conversions that waits for your review (0 turns it off). Those conversions get the status Quality control: partners do not see them and no postback is sent until you decide. An offer can have its own share.
Where you review
Performance › Conversions shows a fraud bar and a filter Only possible fraud; open a conversion to see why it was flagged.
